Jane Anderson Travis, 80, passed away on March 15, 2025, in Bastrop, Texas.

Jane was a dedicated educator who earned her degree from the University of Texas before embarking on an almost 40- year career as a high school English teacher in Bastrop, Texas. She also taught high school in Elgin and in the Houston area. Jane found great joy in shaping young minds and fostering a love of literature and the dramatic in her students.

Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica R. Grace and Melissa W. Wright; her grandchildren, Lallitha Grace, Ash Grace, and Elena D. Wright; and her sister, Donna J. Anderson. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Windsor Anderson.

Jane had a deep appreciation for travel and cherished family trips around the world and visits with friends. She found happiness in afternoons spent at the dog park, working on puzzles with friends and family, and sharing laughter with those around her. She also supported the Bastrop County Animal Shelter. Donations in her honor to BCAS would be welcome.

Jane’s generosity, kindness, and warm intellect touched many lives. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
