Phyllis Giles Obituary

Phyllis Marjorie Giles was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 17, 1944, to Jack Giles Sr. and Marjorie Giles. She died on March 19, 2026, at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville. She dedicated her life to her family and passion for gardening. She proudly spent the final chapter of her career as the Volunteer Coordinator at Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, Alabama. After retirement, she moved back to her hometown of Huntsville where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Phyllis Giles was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jack Giles Jr., and her beloved canine companion, Meeno.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Freedman (Eric); grandchildren, Giles, Brent and Laura Freedman of California; sisters, Judy Mann (Ivan), Birmingham, Mary Grace Evans (Max), and brother, Tom Giles (Anita) of Huntsville, Alabama; and her dear nieces and nephews, Holden, Robert, William, Margie and Miles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
